Hi all,

New to the forum, found this site while browsing questions on astral projection. In answer to the questions:

1. Give us a general understanding of what kind of knowledge you have regarding astral projection.
I have read quite a bit about it. I heard my parents talking about it when I was young, as they had a friend who did it. I had an aunt who did it too (only met her twice). I had an NDE as a child where I was looking down at my body, but not sure if that was related. I read some of Lobsang Rampa's books as a teenager.

2. What kind of expectations do you have towards projection... what do you think projection is?
I think the main thing is to see the world without being tied to my body and to get the chance to learn new things.

3. What kind of methods/techniques have you tried?
I have tried music from youtube, different types of beats. I've tried meditation etc and other techniques I've read online. I have got to the point where I can feel my body tingling but at that point my heart starts to beat very fast, not sure why, even when I am trying to relax.

4. How long have you been attempting them for?
I first tried as a child, concentrating on the ceiling. I am now in my 30s. I have not done it seriously, but it's something I've attempted regularly.

5. What kind of goals do you have for learning Projection? You can be general or specific.
I'd like to learn new things. I'd also like to check on people who I can't see in real life but worry about.

Welcome to the Academy! It's nice to meet you. :)

Your parents are into it? That gives you a good jump on things. I'm kind of lucky in that regards to in that my mother has sleep paralysis episodes quite often, so I'm able to discuss this stuff a bit more openly with her although she still believes it's for "special people". LoL I try to explain things to her, but she's not one to REALLY accept it, but she doesn't NOT believe. My father however is one of those people that if it doesn't happen to him directly, it doesn't exist... even though it HAS happened to him and yet he just refuses to believe it. ROFL Strange. But meh. :)

NDE's are projections. Life is a projection. One day, I have no doubt, you'll figure out how those two statements are connected, beyond the obvious. hehe

2. What kind of expectations do you have towards projection... what do you think projection is?
I think the main thing is to see the world without being tied to my body and to get the chance to learn new things.

In a way, everything we experience, be it in this physical reality, or in another reality, is always tired to our body. Our individual awareness experiences through this meat bag of ours. How we "define" experience is through our physical body, and we take that definition with us when we project to other realities. So if it's not part of your definition of what you have experienced, it's extremely hard for you to experience something outside of that definition. Does that make sense? It's kind of WHAT a projection is.

3. What kind of methods/techniques have you tried?
I have tried music from youtube, different types of beats. I've tried meditation etc and other techniques I've read online. I have got to the point where I can feel my body tingling but at that point my heart starts to beat very fast, not sure why, even when I am trying to relax.

What we're eventually going to do here at the Astral Academy is get you to find your "focus". It can be anything really... a sight, a sound, an object, even a part of your body... you'll pick whatever is able to hold your attention the best. Everyone has a different focus which works best for them. Then you're going to use that focus to, in a way, make yourself ignore this physical reality. You're going to ignore this physical reality and everything in it to the point where this physical reality turns off for you, and another reality turns on. Make sense?

4. How long have you been attempting them for?
I first tried as a child, concentrating on the ceiling. I am now in my 30s. I have not done it seriously, but it's something I've attempted regularly.

While you might not have been able to successfully project during your "attempts"... I can assure you that you have projected many times.
Have you ever had what you would label a "lucid dream"? That's a projection. Essentially, you're experiencing a reality which you identify as NOT being this physical reality.
That's all a projection is.

5. What kind of goals do you have for learning Projection? You can be general or specific.
I'd like to learn new things. I'd also like to check on people who I can't see in real life but worry about.

You'll definitely learn new things! That I can guarantee.
You'll also be able to check up on people, however the information you gleam from these "check ups" won't quite be what you're expecting.
But we'll leave that for another time... first up is getting you "out there"!

Anyway, start with the lessons we have here. Let us know if you have any questions or feel like you get stuck. :)
