What is spirituality in a nutshell. (Few words as possible)

Spirituality is when consciousness transcends self awareness and becomes aware of thought itself.
That's my answer with as few words as possible.

What's yours? Remember.... less is more and fewer words the better.

(With a few extra words, I would say that we all have this capability and our ideas of religion and mysticism and other things labeled 'spiritual' only get in the way. It is really quite simple: metacognition is uniquely human. Isn't it funny how religion and hatred for others' beliefs is also uniquely human?)

Spirituality is the relation(ship) of self to non-self.

YES! Same as me, but in different words.

You get the reward for fewest words, BUT
Popeye said it best: "I ams what I ams"
Perhaps Popeye is the greatest spiritual guru of all time! 8-)

"I am" refers to the awareness that is aware.

I like this one. I usually say it as 'wondering what my place in the universe is'.

If you utilize it, than it is no longer extra sensory. It is just sensory. Maybe the paranormal is actual more normal than we realize.

I agree and it fits into my definition too. Once you are metacognitive, you can't help but wonder where you fit in the grand scheme of things.
That also means that scientists are actually spiritual. Science isn't the opposite of religion, it is the same, but with a different approach.

These things are simply labels. Nothing more.

Normal is whatever you are/do.

growth toward consciousness.
and that can be worded in so many different ways.
seeking of truth
reconnection with divine
discovering the self
and you can replace the word spirituality with many different words
religion
philosophy
science
these all mean the same thing

I see how you read my attempt at minimalisation. I left out the hyphen after extra as it wasn't necessary. Then after looking at it again, it would have been better as 'extra sense of perception utilised'.
The meaning is you see more than normal and use this facility as an overall assessment of that seen.
The greater picture.

It is the attempt to answer the "why" when science tries to answer the "how".

I understood you completely. It is the utilization of these senses that makes us who we are.

I don't find it easy to put it in a sentence. I would agree with the different comments on it made here.

The reason that I keep adding definitions is that there are so many interpretations.....

The act of focusing on the spiritual, whatever that is perceived to be.

Yeah, it really is difficult to explain spirituality in a nutshell because what spirituality is to people can be very different things. I do like the exercise here though.

The main purpose is to define 'spirituality' for yourself.
It is amazing, (but it shouldn't be), that we have very similar definitions.
And keeping it short also keeps them vague enough to encompass all vantage points of the same thing,
and we all realize that no matter what faith or religion we have, we are all human.
And the fact that we have these thoughts at all, in the first place, should be cherished.

In some places, when you bring up spirituality, religion, after life, or even politics, they become very heating and a debate ensues.
Not here. That is not the purpose of this.

Before anybody can even begin to talk about spirituality, they must define it for themselves. And there are as many answers as there are people on this planet.
But I see many overlapping similarities.

And to Magic: I get the joke, but I must say this video says it all!
