I've heard of The Flaming Lips but I do not know of any of their music off hand. If you put them up there with Pink Floyd though, They must be damn good. I'm sure I've heard their music but don't recall it.

Any particular songs of theirs that you suggest?

I know The Beatles led the invasion but The Who won the war. IMO, they are hands down the numero uno top Brit band. Top any *insert label* band. :D

One word:
GOA TRANCE
(OK, that was two words)

You Tube has a plethora of it and actually I'm in the mood right now and will check some more out.
I actually have lucid dreams where I make my own songs.... (then of course never can remember the details of it after awakening) :(

Of course I like Beatles, The Who, and Pink Floyd too, but always wonder why Goa Trance or Psy Trance, or any 'trance' in general isn't more main stream. You don't need 'E' at a rave to enjoy it! It's not fit for the radio and I think that is why.
I close my eyes and see what I can see, whatever it may be.
It could be the sea, or I could see a bee.
Don't you see? It doesn't matter to me. Just let it be!

Not looking at a Cure or similar, the best of them is Rotten. I did get a Squeeze as I had a case of Hawkwind. It came on that Black Sabbath after a Deep Purple sky. I had to Look at Yourself too. This later caused a Momentary Lapse of Reason and Heeps of thoughts ensued. I thought of The Pro's and Con's of Hitchhiking while feeling Comfortably Numb. You just can't get enough. Yes I toldmy friend Uriah Heep it's in the Genesis of your creation. This went down like a Led Zeppelin so after a trip down the Autobahn we had a Tangerine Dream. Standing at the Edge of Time that Greenslade character spoke saying theres more ...

I can't really just recommend songs from the flips that you can just pick up and love. Their music has a lot of deep themes. If you wanna check them out I would stay away from their older albums for now, something to get you started I would say the album Yoshima Battles the Pink Robots was the album that got me into them. They also did a remake of Dark Side of the Moon (Yes, the Dark Side of the Moon) but I wouldn't listen to that until you are familiar with their style.

At war with the Mystics is also brilliant, and finally, The Soft Bulletin, is a highly recommended listen.

I love The Cranberries and the Goo Goo Dolls. I think my favorite song will always be Iris. :3

I know this is a little off topic, but I discovered Pandora a few days ago. It's unleashed a demon, haha!
