Do You Get Frustrated Learning to do Astral Projection?

The frustration that people experience while learning to project is entirely due to attempting to build your house before building a solid foundation first.
Just as one can’t immediately play Beethoven or Bach without LOTS of practice first… you also can’t just do a conscious exit projection without first mastering your mind. Yes, I said “mastering” your mind. This means that one must spend a long time (time may vary) with their own consciousness via meditation before you’ll have any success real success.

This is the source of the frustration of just about every single person who has ever tried to do this and failed. Of this I can 100% guarantee.

Everyone wants to do astral projection with as little work as possible to get the fastest results possible. <– That's a model for FAILURE
Especially if they prescribe to the idea that that's the ONLY way to project. There are a myriad of ways to project, the HARDEST being the conscious exit projection. I guess I should explain quickly what that is. A Conscious Exit projection is one where you sit/lie down with the express intent to project.

So now, if you've read Michael Radugas OBE4U eBook, he has what he calls "indirect" methods for projection. To cut a long story short, all those acrynoms which rhyme with WILD are those. I honestly forget all the acrynoms people use for these. WBTB? MILD? DEILD? These are all "indirect" methods for projecting… and they're every bit as valid as a conscious exit for projecting. They'll take you to the same place, and allow you to do the same things as any conscious exit projection.

Techniques for this kind of stuff are everywhere. The problem is that I think it's rare for people to acknowledge the validity of such a projection right upon first learning this stuff. Why? Because people get indoctrinated into the "it's *only* a lucid dream, it's not a REAL astral projection" mindset, then they read about conscious exits and believe those to be REAL astral projections. So they ignore everything else. Then when they finally fail and become frustrated that they can't do it… they quit altogether saying it doesn't exist.

And I should say now that I *LOVE* indirect methods. They account for perhaps 80 – 90% of my projections. A member on the Astral Pulse, cosmic, shared a great method: Projection Method. It’s simply noticing with falling asleep. It doesn’t get much easier than that. I have, on many occasions said to try stuff like this.

Personally, I’d like to see people eventually take the proper time to learn to master their mind… learn to meditate… learn to focus their minds, then learn to hold that focus for extended periods of time. The only reason people fail is because they’re impatient.

I like Tom Campbell’s opinion here: Take the long view, in 15 – 20 years, you’ll be really good at it.

Let’s make it a point to tell people, “If you want to project with minimal effort, give these techniques a try”… but also to point out that if you want to make this a part of your “life”, not just a fad, then you’re going to have to take the long view, as Tom suggests. Otherwise you won’t get much out of this.

Hey there xanth! I have been reading your work for a lot of time and I must say that I love it! keep doing what you do, you really have been an inspiration for me and I bet for a lot of people ๐Ÿ™‚
I donยดt want to sound ignorant nor totally clueless but there is this thing that always buggs me off when reading about meditation, the thing is I dont really know how to meditate, I dont really know what to do or how to do, the thing I try is triying to concentrate in a sound; a mantra in my mind while I sit confortably and close my eyes. The truth is that Im not very sure what to do then, Am I supossed to see figures and things in my dark eyelids? Should I be hearing things? Should I concentrate on pure darkness? I have been hearing about knowing yourself during meditation, does that mean I should have a conversation with myself and I should be wiser or something? One thing that really buggs me aswell is that Im not sure if Im doing it right, in the sense that I sometimes let myself go as if I almost went asleep, but I dont know if I should be concentrating in the mantra instead of “phasing out” for a brief time. What should I feel at Meditation what should I expect? How do I know if I did a “right” meditation?

As you may guess I have a lot of questions and Im kind of lost, I would really apreciate if you could help me out in some of those questions, perhaps doing a post about a meditation method ๐Ÿ™‚ that would be great!
My best regards ๐Ÿ™‚ and thank you (sorry for my clunky english, not my main language)

      Hi Diego!

Thank you for the kind words.

Your troubles with meditation are very common.

My best suggestion to you is to forget about all the things you think you’re “supposed” to experience and just allow ANYTHING to happen.

All those “shoulds” you asked are all possibilities… so are an infinite number of other things. ๐Ÿ™‚

You don’t really have a lot of questions, just one question asked from many different perspectives. You do sound like you’re doing just fine. Go with the flow… allow the meditation to happen. Allow things to be as they are. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s more than my pleasure! I want people to begin to experience the non-physical and learn to this stuff first-hand!
That’s the only way anyone is going to learn… you can read as many books as you want, but until you actually go non-physical, you will never *know*!

Tell all your friends about Unlimited Boundaries! ๐Ÿ™‚

As in they open up while you’re practicing?

Try giving your eyes a good stretch before practicing. Roll them around in all directions, as far as you can make them go… and scrunch your eyes up tightly for a couple seconds as well, do that a few times. This will relax them a lot and make practicing much easier. ๐Ÿ™‚

At one time nearly every 2 or 3 times week, early morning my head feels like vibration so i got scare then snap out of it, so one night I was exhausted I was in a trance then the vibration, so waited out for it, then I was out my body, I was scare but I finally was roam around my son room back to my room I look in the mirror I saw myself, but not see my body, so I said where my body? I wanted to see my body, na this isn’t right so I thought of my body I woke up, since then I have not experience any OBE only dreams or lucid dreams, the funny thing is now I am searching it doesn’t happening spontaneously
as much though, what I do is that I say to myself repeating I am going to have an OBE tonight a few times in day time it does happen not all the times thou. At least I remembering my dreams which I never do at all most night,

      Hi Thao!

You sound like you’re almost a nature at projecting. ๐Ÿ™‚
Keep up the good work, you’re doing great!
